Function
As a Head of Applications & Development (M/F/X) you are a strategic and visionary leader responsible for overseeing the activities of multiple product owners while defining and implementing best practices. This role requires a combination of excellent leadership skills, deep understanding of product management, and a strong ability to collaborate across teams to drive the success of product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership and Oversight
- Oversee and provide guidance to a team of product owners, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic vision and goals.
- Mentor and develop product owners, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Collaborate with senior management to define the product strategy and roadmap.
- Ensure effective prioritization and management of product backlogs to maximize product value and delivery.
Defining Best Practices
- Establish and promote best practices for product management, including processes for product development, backlog management, and release planning.
- Develop and implement standardized tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and consistency across product teams.
- Ensure adherence to established best practices and provide support where necessary.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders, including executives, customers, and partners.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between product owners and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to inform product decisions and improvements.
Product Vision and Strategy
- Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives.
- Translate the product vision into actionable plans and deliverables.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to inform product strategy.
Performance Measurement
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product initiatives and teams.
- Regularly review and assess the performance of product owners and their respective products.
- Identify and address any performance gaps or areas for improvement.
Budget Management
- Oversee the budget for product development and delivery, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Monitor and control expenditures to stay within budget while maximizing product value.
- Provide regular budget reports and updates to senior management.
As Head of Applications & Development (M/F/X), you will report to the Chief of Information Officer and work from our Vilvoorde office.
Profile
- Degree: Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: You have a proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in product management, with a track record of successfully managing and delivering products.
- Languages: You are fluent in Dutch & English. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience overseeing and developing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and best practices in product management.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform decisions and measure success.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous situations.
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
